Current status

Scheduled notifications are being delivered again in our tests, in both ChatGPT’s chat and work mode. OpenAI has not yet confirmed a fix, so we are monitoring before we close the incident.

Premium compensation

Monthly subscribers: your next renewal is free. It is already applied to every eligible subscription, and the first free renewal was billed on 22 October. Annual subscribers: an equivalent discount on your next renewal, applied when we close this incident. You do not need to do anything.

Still affected?

Try running the scheduled task in ChatGPT’s work mode instead of chat mode. If it still fails, contact us: we pass every example on to OpenAI.

How to report it

Updates

  1. Monitoring Latest

Scheduled deliveries are working again in our tests

Our latest scheduled-task tests delivered successfully: ChatGPT sent the requests to TaskNotify and its safety checks no longer blocked them. The tests passed in both ChatGPT’s chat mode and work mode.

OpenAI has not yet replied to our case or confirmed a fix, so we are keeping this incident open while we monitor.

If a scheduled task is still blocked for you, try running it in work mode instead of chat mode, and email support@17labs.ai either way with the date and time, the mode, and a screenshot of what ChatGPT showed. We pass every example on to OpenAI.

Upgrades from the dashboard are available again. The compensation announced on 18 October is unchanged: Premium monthly subscribers get their next renewal free, and annual subscribers an equivalent discount on their next renewal, applied automatically.

  2. Investigating

Scheduled notifications from ChatGPT are disrupted

ChatGPT safety checks are blocking scheduled notification requests before they reach TaskNotify. When that happens, TaskNotify receives no request to deliver. Manual sends have continued to work in reported cases, but a successful manual test does not confirm that a scheduled task will deliver.

We have been investigating since the first customer report on 28 September and documented the issue with OpenAI Support that day. On 8 October our own scheduled tests, which had worked until then, began failing too, and OpenAI escalated the case to a specialist. Further reports followed on 15 and 17 October.

The root cause has not been confirmed by OpenAI, and we do not yet have a recovery estimate. Please do not rely on scheduled delivery for time-sensitive notifications until we confirm recovery.

Premium subscribers: your next monthly renewal will be free, and annual subscribers will receive an equivalent discount on their next renewal. These discounts will be applied automatically; no action is needed from you. Dashboard upgrades are paused while this incident is ongoing.
